I saw this new Hallmark design skill that usehallmark.com put out.
It exposes roughly 50 different themes from Editorial to Modern minimal, Atmospheric to Playful.
It’s made by a couple of guys, Hassan El Mghari and Youssef El Mghari which I assume are relatives (but have no confirmation).
They build very cool Open-Source and AI driven sites such as RoomGPT.io and self.so and this very cool AI Papers site, 1kpapers.comm.
Let’s check out their skill, which despite the graphic, really has nothing to do with the Greeting card company (which is now more known for cheesy romantic movies).
I’ll use NodeJS 22 (lts/jod) for this, but I’m sure it would work with iron (20) or krypton (24).
Installing the Skill
I went to install with npx:
$ nvm use lts/jod
$ npx skills add nutlope/hallmark -g
Need to install the following packages:
skills@1.7.4

I like these nice looking skill installers
:w
It was easy to add to everything (except Antigravity)
I did Agy myself
(base) builder@LuiGi:~/.gemini/antigravity-cli/skills$ ln -s ../../../.agents/skills/hallmark hallmark
I then used Opencode with Ollama remotely to try the skill out on a new app
OpenCode looked to make a nice plan (after I used /agent to init the repo)
Though that ask timed out after 9m on my meager hardware
It kept happening so I came back to using gemma4:e4b
After the first hello world, I asked it to use the Hallmark skill to redesign
It proposed an update
After fixing a package json issue, it moved on to updated the layout
I also fired off a similar thing with Agy
Argon is getting smarter and realized i really didn’t give it enough details for success and came back with all sorts of questions
I gave it a shot
I had both tools working at this going (Opencode and Agy)
At this point OpenCode started to ask me questions about the audience and tone
While Gemma4:e4b finished first, it had a lot of errors i iterated on and by the time it was done, Agy was done too.
Gemma4:e4b made:
And Antigravity kicked out:
For a general prompt (for which I was mostly expecting boilerplate), I was surprised how complete it was
Redesign
Next, I want to check how it does on redesigns. I have this dad joke app which I demoed for IaCConf last week.
It has a nice colourful background
Let’s try and update the UI
Got done
I think it actually did a fairly good job:
I wanted to try and improve the loading experience for when i use large models
It at least makes the wait seem less painful
I put a version using the smaller model (as it’s much faster) at dads.tpk.pw.
Summary
It was very easy to tie this into Antigravity and OpenCode. I’m sure it would work with any other Harness as well.
We used it to create brand new sites (a side by side for new campers using Gemam4:e4b and Antigravity with Gemini 4 Argon). Then we used it to update an existing app with a new theme and it did amazing.
My only concern is that this seems to be one of those beautiful ‘make a thing and publish’ sites that has no long term tie in. It’s two guys (might be related) just making a neat thing and publishing and I worry about long term support.
For instance, I tried their self.so site for a LI resume and it just borked. Is it the PDF format changed from LinkedIn or they have a bug? Who knows - it’s just an app and now it doesn’t work for me. So… will that happen with Hallmark as well (and I’m pretty sure that is a trademarked name so I can only assume this won’t last forever).
I like it, and I’ll use it, but I won’t depend on it.
As an aside, this was my other idea for a title banner:
